USDT on Solana: token accounts, wallets and how to deposit on EonChess

USDT on Solana is one of the three options for depositing and withdrawing on EonChess, and it stands out for very low fees and speed. It works differently from Ethereum-style networks: addresses have no prefix, are case-sensitive and every token needs its own account. This guide explains those differences and the steps to deposit and withdraw.

What USDT on Solana is

USDT on Solana is an SPL token, the network's token standard, and it is worth about one dollar. Its address is a string of 32 to 44 characters with no prefix and it is case-sensitive, so it is best to copy and paste it rather than type it. An overview of the three networks is in chess with crypto.

Token accounts

On Solana, a wallet needs a specific account for each token it receives. Wallets and exchanges usually create it automatically the first time, and that step can cost the sender a small amount of SOL. Normally you do not have to do anything, but it explains why the first transfer sometimes costs a little more.

Depositing from a wallet such as Phantom or Solflare

With your own wallet, the steps are:

  • Open your EonChess wallet, choose Solana and copy your deposit address.
  • In your wallet, choose to send USDT and paste the address.
  • Enter at least 5 USDT and leave a little SOL to pay the fee.
  • Confirm. The balance appears when the network confirms the transaction, usually within seconds or a few minutes.

Depositing from an exchange

With an exchange, the process is similar:

  • Choose to withdraw USDT and select the Solana network.
  • Paste your EonChess deposit address and check the beginning and the end.
  • Make sure you are sending USDT and not USDC, which is a different token on the same network.

How to withdraw to a Solana address

You choose Solana, enter your address and confirm with the 6-digit code or your PIN. The form shows the minimum, the network fee and the exact amount before you confirm. The full steps are in how to withdraw USDT.

Fees and common mistakes

Solana's fee is usually very low, although it can rise when the network is congested. EonChess charges nothing to withdraw. To compare it with the other networks, read USDT on BEP20, Solana or TON.

The most common mistakes are sending USDC instead of USDT, sending on another network or sending less than 5 USDT. If it happens, write to support with the transaction hash.

Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Send only USDT, on the right network and to the exact address: if you get it wrong, the funds may be lost.
