Account and access
Is it legal to play on EonChess?
Chess is a game of skill: the result depends only on how you play, never on chance. Even so, stake games are not available in some countries; if you live in one of them, you can still play free games and practise against the computer. It is your responsibility to check that the laws of your country allow you to take part.
What do I need to create an account?
You must be 18 or over and have an email address or a Telegram account. If you sign up with email, you verify it with a code sent to your inbox.
Can I have more than one account?
No. Each person may have only one account. Duplicate accounts are blocked together with the main one, because they make it possible to evade sanctions or play against yourself.
How do I close my account?
From Settings, in the account closure section. You must first withdraw your entire balance and have no pending withdrawals. Closure is permanent and cannot be undone.
Games
Can I play without money?
Yes. Free games, practice mode against the computer and challenges between friends with no amount require no balance and are available at all times.
What time controls are available?
Games of 1, 3, 5 and 10 minutes per player. The clock is controlled by the server, so both players have exactly the same time regardless of their connection.
How is the rating calculated?
Each time control has its own rating, which goes up or down after each game depending on the result and your opponent's strength: beating someone with a higher rating earns more points than beating someone with a lower one.
What happens if White doesn't make the first move?
White has 60 seconds to move. If White doesn't, the game is annulled and both players get their full amount back, with no fee.
What happens if I disconnect?
Your clock keeps running. If you return within 60 seconds and still have time left, the game continues normally. If you don't return, you lose by abandonment, unless your opponent lacks sufficient material to checkmate, in which case it's a draw. If both players disconnect, the game is annulled.
What happens if I resign a game?
Resigning always counts as a loss, at any point in the game, even before the first move.
When does a game end in a draw?
By stalemate, insufficient material, threefold repetition, the 50-move rule or agreement between both players. It is also a draw if you run out of time and your opponent lacks sufficient material to checkmate you.
Balance, deposits and withdrawals
Which networks can I deposit on?
Only USDT via BEP20 (BNB Smart Chain), Solana or TON. Each account has its own deposit address and the balance is credited automatically after network confirmation.
What is the minimum deposit and how long does it take?
The minimum is 5 USDT per deposit; smaller deposits are not credited automatically (if you made a mistake, write to us from Contact and we will review your case). Your balance appears as soon as the network confirms the transaction, normally within a few minutes; the exact time depends on the network you use.
What happens if I send funds on the wrong network?
Blockchain transactions are irreversible. If you send an asset other than USDT, use an unsupported network or an incorrect address, the funds may be lost. Always check the network and the address before sending.
Why do I have to play my deposit before withdrawing?
It is an anti-money laundering measure: the amount you deposit must be used at least once in stake games before it can be withdrawn. Your wallet shows how much you still need to play.
How is a withdrawal confirmed?
With a 6-digit code sent to your account's email address or, if you created it with Telegram, to the official bot's chat. Without that code the withdrawal is not processed, even if someone has accessed your session.
How much does it cost to withdraw?
EonChess does not charge for withdrawals: only the destination network's fee is deducted. Before you confirm, the form shows you the minimum amount, the fee and the exact amount you will receive.
How long does a withdrawal take?
Usually a few minutes. Large withdrawals, those from recent accounts and those requiring additional checks go through a manual review of up to 24 hours. You can track their status in your transaction history.
Fees and invitations
How much does EonChess charge?
A 5 % fee on stake games. If you win, you receive the sum of both amounts minus 5 %. In a draw, each player gets their amount back minus 5 %. Annulled games are refunded in full and free games cost nothing.
Where do my earnings from inviting friends come from?
From the fee charged by EonChess, never from the prize or other players' balances: nobody pays more for having been invited. In each stake game, half of the fee is attributable to each player. If you invited one of them, you receive 20 % of their half for the 6 months following their registration. For example, in a game of 10 USDT per player the fee is 1.00 USDT and you receive 0.10 USDT in your balance, without your invitee paying anything extra. Free and annulled games do not generate earnings.
Security and fair play
How is cheating prevented?
All stake games are analysed with Stockfish, comparing the accuracy and timing of each move with usual human play. Every suspicious case is reviewed by a person. If cheating is confirmed, the account is permanently blocked and the money is returned to the affected opponents.
How do I challenge the result of a game?
When the game ends, open a dispute from the game itself and describe what happened. The team reviews it and notifies you of the decision; you can follow it in “My disputes”. If it is upheld, the game is annulled and both players get their amount back.
How do I keep my account secure?
Use a unique password and protect access to your email and your Telegram account, as that is where you receive verification and withdrawal codes. Never share those codes: the EonChess team will never ask you for them.
Responsible gaming and support
Can I limit my activity or self-exclude?
Yes. You can ask support for a daily amount limit or for self-exclusion from stake games for as long as you choose. While it lasts, you can still play for free, practise and withdraw your balance. More information is available in the Responsible gaming policy.
How do I contact support?
Write to [email protected] from the email address linked to your account and include your username. To challenge the result of a game, open a dispute from the game itself: it's the fastest way.
