What practice mode offers
You play against a chess engine whose level (ELO) you choose between 400 and 2800, from beginner to grandmaster. You do not need to deposit anything, and games cost nothing and never affect your balance.
- Six opponents to choose from (Pawn, Knight, Bishop, Rook, Queen and King) and the exact bot ELO you want.
- Play White, Black or random, with a clock or without one.
- Hint, takeback and position evaluation so you can learn while you play.
- No limit on games or practice time.
- Works on mobile, on desktop and from the Telegram Mini App.
Why practice first
Before playing for money it helps to know the board, the special moves (castling, en passant, promotion) and clock handling. Practicing against the computer lets you make mistakes with no consequences and check your real level.
If you later want to compete against people, ELO matchmaking finds you opponents of your level at 1, 3, 5 and 10 minutes: we explain it in online 1v1 chess.
Other ways to play for free
Besides practice, you can challenge a friend to a no-stake game and play free games against other people. You do not need a balance for any of them.
Games with a USDT prize are optional and for adults aged 18 and over only.
